Child Protection and Safety Issues

Naturally, we take child protection extremely seriously.  To ensure your child’s safety a number of us have been attending specific child protection courses.

Although we have never had any such issues within our club we feel it is prudent that we not only follow British Gymnastics Child Protection Rules (a copy is available at all times during training) but we apply our own good practise policy over and above these. We now implement a child protection policy within the club.

All coaches/assistants are CRB checked.

At least one child protection officer will be in attendance at each session.

Their job will be to generally watch over the session and pick up on any relevant issues which may arise. These officers have attended the BG Child Protection and Welfare courses.

Performer Liaison Officer

Laura Gallagher has been elected as the performers representative, she will be available for any child to speak to who does not feel that they want to speak to an adult. Lauren attends every session.

Please don’t think we have gone ‘protection crazy’ but we feel that whilst your children our in our care we must take our ‘duty of care’ very seriously.

Health & Safety

A number of our coaches have attended specific Health & Safety courses specific to trampolining.

Due to the ‘compensation culture’ obviously our sport is very vulnerable. As with participation in any sport there is always a danger of accidental injury. We pride ourselves on our safety precautions, however there is always the chance that an accident could occur. It seems really sad that some people think that accidents don’t happen, but, view it as an opportunity to gain financially. To enable not only our sport, but all sports, to keep going our insurance company now vigorously fights any false claims for compensation.

If you view anything which you feel puts you child’s health or safety at risk, then please inform us immediately.
